All about BMW

All about BMW:

Welcome back to my second blog. If you have come from my previous blog post, you would know that it was about Adidas’ collaboration with Kanye West who created Yeezy. In this blog I want to talk about a company that I am also interested in, which is BMW.

ImageBayerische Motoren Werke AG, also known and shortened to BMW, is a German multinational manufacturer of performance luxury vehicles. Their head offices are based in Munich in Germany. It was founded in March of 1916 by Karl Rapp, Gustav Otto, Camillo Castiglioni, and Franz Josef Popp. As many people do not know BMW originally started as a company who made aircraft engines. They then ventured into creating motorcycles and cars shortly after. This is what they are most globally known for. To speak more about their marketing techniques, it is obvious that BMW’s marketing strategy is to focus on the market's segmentation, which is evident when they particularly view the high-end segments on a global scale and labels their brand as a premium company that offers to a certain market segment. They ensure that their automobiles are sought after and desired by everyone. They do this by following the trends and also looking at competitors to help them modify their vehicles to match customers' desires and needs.

Ever since I was young, about 12 years old I would say, was the first time I saw an advert on the television for BMW. Their advertisement and marketing techniques have been perfected for many years to encapsulate the viewers to show them this is the brand of car they should really have in their life, not an Audi or a Mercedes. I knew from that day that this brand was the one, the one I wanted my first car to be from. The detailed ad explaining the different specs of the vehicle, the smooth drive, and the power of it I just fell in love. My love for BMW grew when all my uncles would ever own, and drive were BMW cars. My uncle first got a BMW M4 convertible and took me on a drive in it, for years I was surrounded by them. Then my 18th birthday came around and I was ready to start learning how to drive and was working towards getting my license. 8 months later I passed and 3 months after that I went to view a car, a white BMW that I still think about it. It's my dream to own one and hopefully one day I will be able to have the car I have always dreamt of. To conclude, this dream will all come from my studies of marketing and advertising at Kingston. With my studies I will be able to do a job I love, get paid and own the car of my dreams.
